Since 2010, the LABC Institute has helped produce cutting-edge findings used to better understand and address some of the Southern California region’s most pressing issues, including the housing and homelessness crises, equitable economic development and Los Angeles’ green transition.

In just over a decade, the Institute has brought together leaders across business, government, labor, environmental, and nonprofit sectors to turn complex challenges into actionable policy and investment strategies. Its work focuses on strengthening economic growth, expanding opportunity, and supporting business development across Southern California.
Through rigorous research and trusted partnerships with leading academic institutions, media outlets, and public agencies, the Institute delivers insights that shape policy and inform decision-making on the issues that matter most—from housing and homelessness to equitable development and the region’s green transition. As Los Angeles steps onto the global stage with two major international athletic competitions, including the 2028 Olympics, the Institute continues to convene leaders, foster collaboration, and elevate the region’s diverse business community at home and abroad.
